James loves his daddy

James loves his time with Jeff. He'll stand on a box looking out the front window and watch for dad to come home. He knows Dad means fun. He'll wave me away and then take Jeff's finger and lead him around the house. Or he does all his tricks when Dad is watching. He wants so much to make his dad proud. If he falls over or gets bumped in front of dad, he gets a bit embarrassed.

Before bedtime, he loves to play chase. He takes Dad with him into the kitchen and then puts mom around the corner so she can jump out and scare them both. He loves when Jeff puts him on his shoulders, reads "Hop on Pop," and scratches his back. He likes to sit on Jeff's lap during breakfast and read the paper.

James does not like to wake up and have Jeff already gone for the day. He runs into our room and then puts his bottom lip out and cries. One day after his nap, he kept saying "Dad" and pointing to his room. I was confused, but as we went to his room he reached for the 4x6 photo of himself and Jeff that he'd taken a nap with. He held it and smiled. We're very glad that Jeff can make it home to spend a bit of time with James. We're also glad that we can go to the law school when we need some daddy time.

That's so sweet! I'm glad James loves spending time with his dad. Oh, and thanks for posting updates - I've missed them lately :-)

James is ADORABLE! He's grown up so much! It's great that he knows his daddy and loves him.

One question...how does Jeff get away with being able to relax on the floor and still amuse James by tickling him with his toes? Doesn't it seem like you have to run yourself ragged for the same reaction? Well, that's what I've noticed with my kids anyway...Perry can be SLEEPING on the floor and they climb all over him thinking HE'S the best thing this side of the Mississippi! Oh well. :)

Have a great day in tropical Provo!

P.S. the snow really isn't THAT bad...if you have a purple marshmallow suit!
